It’s Heartworm and Tick season!!
Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms that primarily affect dogs, cats, and ferrets. This worm is transmitted through mosquito bites.
Ticks are small arachnids that feed on blood and can transmit serious diseases to humans and animals.
We recommend using prevention for these parasites. There are a few options to choose from. Topical or chewable. Some prevention will just cover fleas and ticks, while others cover fleas/ticks/heartworm and some intestinal parasites. To get heartworm prevention we will need to make sure your pet does not have it first. We can test your beloved pet to rule out heartworm and tick borne diseases. This test is called a 4Dx.
